Committees – Serving on a Chamber committee is a great way to get exposure for your business. The Chamber has a variety of special events and yearlong committees on which you can serve.
Event Sponsorships – Sponsorships are available throughout the year.
Business After Hours – Socials are held bi-monthly at different locations. Reaching 125-150 members, socials are a great method of getting people into your business and observing your services and products.
Business Expo – Conducted by The Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce, this Business Expo is one of the best-planned and attended in South Carolina and attended by thousands of people.
Annual Chamber Retreat – The Chamber conducts an annual retreat to gather information to formulate the coming new year's Program of Work. Conducted at an out-of-town location, the retreat is a focal point of the year for members to provide important input to the mission and activities of the organization. Also an awesome networking tool, the retreat provides a great opportunity for members to get to know other business people and develop a business relationship with hundreds of individuals.
Shaw Air Force Base Exposure – Opportunities are available to participate in programs designed to get your company name before many of the men and women of Shaw Air Force Base.
Rub O' the Green Golf Tournament – Both the sponsors and players hail the Rub o' the Green golf tournament as one of the best in South Carolina. Chamber members may sponsor holes, prizes and an array of other areas of the tournament.
Educational Opportunities – We conduct seminars on many subjects dealing with improving your business
Leadership Sumter – A 9-month program, Leadership Sumter develops a corps of informed individuals capable of providing dynamic leadership for the Sumter community.
Positive Business Advocacy - The Chamber promotes a positive business climate through advocacy of a strong, teamwork oriented local government and education systems that provide a well-trained workforce for the business community.
Legislative Visit – The Governmental Affairs Committee plans an annual visit to the South Carolina Statehouse in Columbia to meet and communicate with the legislators who affect Sumter County in every office.
Retention of Shaw Air Force Base – The Chamber recognizes the major impact of Shaw Air Force Base on the Sumter Community. The Chamber is a strong advocate and partner in the necessary action to ensure Shaw's future.
Grand Opening Assistance – Grand opening assistance helps members introduce their new and expanding businesses to the Sumter area. Businesses can request assistance with ribbon cutting ceremonies, groundbreaking information and media releases.
Economic Research/Demographic Information – Members, economic development prospects and local organizations may get detailed, updated statistical data on Sumter and Sumter County.
Newcomer List – Members may subscribe to a list of addresses of individuals who are interested in moving to the Sumter area.
Service Corps of Retired Executives – Known as SCORE, this program gives members the opportunity to confidentially meet with retired executives to ask questions and talk about business concerns on a one-on-one basis.
